I had a national ID card from the moment I as born in Western Europe until I immigrated here. Of course the technology wasn't what it is today but you weren't supposed to leave the house without it. It never bothered me. With the exception of the eye retina scan all the info you indicate above is already gathered about us by all matters of entities.

National ID = 100% hackable identity. Just like 5000lbs of unstealable paperwork being digitized into 5MB of data that can be stolen in 10 keystrokes.

Just because its "the most futuristic" "the most fast" or "the most compact" dont mean its the best, or safest.

I personally think for security, it should be illegal to digitize some information. ANY information which is digitized should be considered compromized the instant its digital.

A national ID would verify your right to vote, validity your legal citizenship, and guarantee all of your rights and privileges as an American Citizen. The information it contains is readily available to almost any government or private enterprise already.

The only down side I see is for the illegal immigrants, terrorists and, for some strange reason, the far left liberals.
