Yup. There Was Some Kid Running Around In Circles....I Asked Her Where Her Parents Were, Then Took Her To The Front End. End Of Story. Unfortunately, It Happens All The Time....

I have worked for Wal-Mart for over 3 years and yes Code Adams are usually always found within the first 10 to 15 minutes. Any longer and the local authorities are called in to take over.

Although Code Adams are more often used for missing children, Wal-Mart also uses it for any person believed to be missing inside their stores such as someone suffering from dementia or Altimerzer's.

Along the same line as Tweety Gurl's response, a Code Adam and an Amber Alert while similar are not the same. A Code Adam is for missing child/person. An Amber Alert is used for a verified abduction.

Yes, I have. I was at Walmart the other day when a Code Adam had been called. It was me, my mom, my niece, and my nephew. When we got there we went to McDonald's for an ice cream cone and then went in the store for what we needed. Well, me and my nephew went to the toys while my mom and niece went to get what my mom needed from the grocery department. Anyway, me and my 11 year old nephew were walking around in the toy department when all of a sudden a lady that worked at Walmart came up to me and asked me if I was with my friend. I told her "No, I'm with my mom." She said that the lady who lost her son was with a friend at the store and the friend had the boy with them and he was wearing a brown shirt. It turns out that they thought my nephew was the boy because he had a brown shirt on too. After that my nephew and I moved to a different aisle in the toys and there was another Walmart worker who kept walking back and forth at the end of the aisle like she thought my nephew was the boy they were looking for too. It made me mad because you would think that they would have been given the age of the missing child when they were given their description. I mean, you could look at my nephew and tell that he wasn't a little bitty boy who was 3-7. I never heard them say if the boy they were looking for was found or not, but I kind of figured that he was because I didn't see so many Walmart workers looking around anymore.

Some people may not know this so I thought I would add it. Code Adam was named after Adam Walsh. He was the 6 year old son of the host of America's Most Wanted ,John Walsh, who was abducted and murdered in 1981.

Someone said that for a girl it's called an Amber Alert. Well, that's incorrect. There is an Amber Alert, but that's not it. An Amber Alert is a national alert that goes out whenever a child is kidnapped or missing. It was named after 9-year-old Amber Hagerman who was kidnapped and brutally murdered while riding her bicycle in Arlington, Texas.

I used to work at a Walmart. We had code adam called constantly. They always found the kid hiding in the clothing racks or under the furniture shelves after a while.

Yes. I liked it, because the doors all automatically locked down, and everyone started working together to find the child. The child was found safe and sound. Thank god! (I liked it because of the ending otherwise I would have felt horrible!)

Three times. And yes, the child was found each time. BTW, if it's a girl it's a code Amber.
