The producers did a complete overhaul of the show to keep it "fresh" and that meant replacing the host, also. For good or bad.

I haven't watched Family Feud in forever...was that the guy who use to play Al on Home Improvement? Maybe the shows producers wanted a younger or funnier host? Maybe his contract was up? Sorry I was no help.

No one was watching it as much..so they replaced the whole set and since John Hurley is popular..they replaced richard with john hoping the rating would go up..
