my girlfriend is taking birth control (yazmin i think is the name), she takes it to regulate her period. we have never had sex but we have fooled around a few times. i know its posible for sperm to find its way in from the outside but i not even sure we've done the activity that gets the sperm close in the last month. her period is a week late so far. why is it this late. i guess its possible she could be pregnate but its a slim to none chance. she forgot to take her pills the first 2 days of the cycle for the pills but i dont think that that would cause her to be this late (but i could be wrong) i am a little scared that she may be pregnant or something is wrong. what would make her this late? she is stressed now but not when it was a couple days late and she is mainly stressed about a huge relationship problem we have. i

missing even one or two pills can really throw of your cycle so relax the chance she is pregnant is very very low and the more she stresses the later it will be so both of you relax!

She isn't doing her pills regular. I would use a condom no matter what -- there is always 1% chance she can get pregnant on the pill. Sperm is not known for getting from the outside up into the vaginal to the egg. You will have to actually be up inside her discharging sperm for there to be a possibility of her becoming pregnant.

A week late is not a big worry yet -- start worrying after 3 to 4 weeks. Girls cycles don't always run like clock work.

I honestly doubt that she is pregnant. Go to the drug store and get the EPT test and do it in the morning, if she's late enough (read the directions). If the pill is not enough protection for the two of you, use a condom, too. I think there is more here than a fear of pregnancy...what is so wrong with the relationship? Sounds like you two need to give yourselves a break from each other or go to a therapist, if this is a committed relationship. Good luck. (Check with her Doctor - maybe this isn't the pill for her!)

the pill is not 100% effective even when taken properly, but when not taken properly, pregnancy is even more possible, especially if she was not consistent with taking her pills. for the pill to be most effective, it needs not only to be remembered, but to be taken at the same time each day. stress is also a factor in not getting a period. most likely she is not pregnant, but it is a possibility. get a home pregnancy test, some of them will show pregnancy as early as 5 days after a missed period.... however, home pregnancy tests can give a false positive when on the pill. she will either need to stop taking the pill before the pregnancy test, or go to her doctor for a blood test.

you do not have to be inside her for the sperm to find their way in, also, condoms are not 100% effective either, and they all have microscopic holes in them that are large enough for the HPV and HIV virus' to pass through, as well as the possibillity of them breaking, leaking, or coming off...

if you are not in a committed relationship, and not ready for a family, your best bet is keep it zipped, and you won't have to worry.

Birth control pills can cause irregularities in a woman's period as well as regulate it. Missing or forgetting pill can definitely screw up your period.
As far as her being pregnant. If you haven't had intercourse and she somehow didn't secretly inject it in her self. I wouldn't worry.
Are you sure that you are her only partner?
If there are problems in your relationship. Perhaps you should re evaluate.

Go to any Target store or Walmart .. they sell testers right on the shelf .. for about $7.99. She can use it by now and find out. Whatever the results are .. she should probably have the test re-done by her doctor. It is the only way to know. Worrying about it won't make it go away. Good Luck ! :)

Have her see a planned parenthood doctor. They are private and cheap. You need to know so you two can make a very important decision. Good luck to you two!
