It is your mucus plug......you're getting closer. If your water breaks, call your docs asap! Good luck!

Did the Dr. Check you in the last day or two, because when they check your cervix for dialation, it is normal to have some spotting.
Also, if you have had sex, that can do it to. Anytime the cervix gets messed with at this point, you can spot slightly.

Again, it could be the start of the mucous plug, but usually you would see some significant mucous along with it.

Last but not least, sometimes spotting happens as the cervix opens....so you could be really close.

If you start to contract, go to hospital.

You are so close!!! It is just a matter of time:)

Could be your mucus plug. It may be breaking loose or you have already lost it. Just means that your body is getting ready for the baby's arrival. remember to get to the hospital A.S.A.P. it any of the following occur.
Bright Red bleeding that soaks more than one pad in an hour.
Severe Cramping
Water Breaking
or all three combined or one with another.
My Midwife made me repeat these to her at every visit!
Good Luck, and I hope you have a smooth delivery.

Because it is painless spotting, it is unlikely that it is placenta abruptio (where the placenta loosens from the uterine wall too early) or a ruptured uterus. Painless spotting at this time is more likely to be either the bloody "show" that has plugged the cervix for nine months and signal that you are preparing for delivery. It may also indicate cervical inflammation from many sources, neither a problem. However, keep monitoring the bleeding and report it to your OB/GYN

Just means you're close to having a baby. The answer before mine is accurate. as long as it's not frank blood or accompanied with cramping, you should be OK. Congratulations!!!!!
