The most important thing you can do going into a draft is to know all the settings for the league. Some leagues count a point per reception while some don't. Receivers like Lee Evans with the Bills are more valuable than TO in those leagues.
Watch the waver wire constantly. Most people are to quick to give up on players. I picked up Deion Branch last week(20 points) after someone cut him.
Marion Barber. If you are in a jam and must resort to picking up a RB just for 1 week he is your man. 10 Carry's 50 yards and 1 touchdown almost every week. Not amazing but worth more than Willis Mcgahee.
If you must cut someone to fill out your roster but do want to cut any of your QB, RB or WR cut the TE and play a week without one at all. On average you would only get 2 or 3 points from them anyway.
Dispite what people say Vick is not overrated. If a RB is the most valuable position in fantasy football its nice to have an extra one. He is a solid back up option that in the last 2 years I have picked up after the 12th round.
TJ Houshmanzada is a better FF player than Chad Johnson. More consistent and more touchdowns.
If defensive players are used do not use the yahoo rankings. Find Ray Lewis, Urlacer, Vilma or any other stud linebacker and its an automatic 10+ points each per game.

Prior to last year, the key to winning a league was drafting solid RBs and a good QB. Since the passing game has become more prevalent you're better off drafting a top QB -- like P. Manning, Brady, Brees, Rivers or Rodgers -- and adding a solid WR before looking for a RB. I prefer to draft late in the first round because I can still grab a solid QB and a pretty good WR. RB can be a volatile position at times and unpredictable as a result. I grabbed Arian Foster off waivers after a draft last year. Do your homework and look for impact players who slipped through the cracks during the draft. BQ- New England or Atlanta

Keys to winning in my opinion are figuring our your starting lineup and sticking with them week in and week out. Murphy's Law of Avgs says that if a guy avgs 1200 rush yds a season that he will continue to do so or at least be somewhere around there. Its to hard to guess who's going to have a good game and keep switching ur lineup each week, when you do that you usually miss out on the guys who do have big games.

As far as best players..

QB - P. Manning, Brady, Palmer, Hasselback
RB - L. Johnson, L. Tomlinson, S. Alexander (hurt), T. Barber
WR - T. Owens, S. Smith, T. Holt, M. Harrison
TE - A. Gates, A. Crumpler, J. Shockey, T. Heap, J. Witten
Defense - Bears, Broncos, Ravens, Chargers
K - Any kicker who plays in a dome for home games, (NFC North kickers)

Most underrated players - M. Bulger (QB), L. Coles (WR), J. Jones (RB), H. Ward (WR)

Most overrated players - M. Vick (QB), S. Moss (WR)

Breakout players - R. Grossman (QB), Broncos D, B. Berrian (WR), R. Williams (WR), S. Jackson (RB), B. Jacobs (RB, very very soon he will be a great fantasy back)

draft both running backs first. Don't spend a high pick on a receiver! Wide receivers are the most likely to be inconsistent. If you get a chance, pick antonio gates for your TE. The advantage that he poses among the other TE's in terms of TDs is unreal. O ya, and have a good backup QB. Kickers are off and on as well, there stats depends on how the game plays out anygiven sunday and are not truly in control of their stats. Hope this helped.

Draft the Running Backs early and avoid rookies. I've been playing Fantast Football for 10 years and runningbacks have always been my #1 priority.
