Start with a kitchen utility cart or butchers block with storage and a pull out extension (examples below). Mount a venting microwave above this surface, you can now safely use a 2 burner hot plate to cook because the vent with dissipate the heat. The storage cupboard can be used as pantry and appliance storage. A small refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, 3 nesting microwave safe bowls, measuring cups and spoons, a small fry pan and sauce pan, plates silverware, cooking tools. This should enable you to cook for yourself and 1 guest easily. You could use a small cupboard or open shelving beside the microwave to store any other odds and ends. A dish basin so you don't have to worry about the bathroom sink being too small. The space in a studio can be a challenge but with careful placement it can be cozy. When you don't want to look at it have a screen to block it off or hang a curtain in front of the area you can slide back.

I start with someplace like Home Depot or Lowe's. They install, or sell you the stuff you need to do it yourself. Check your Yellow Pages for Contractor Supply places, too.
