There was this dream that I had that scared me and because of it didn't make me want to go to sleep.
It was strange, like it starts out being in an empty warehouse. Small men bring in car engine parts or something, and pile it and keep piling it until the warehouse is almost full.
Then I wake up, and run off to the nearest sink and start to vomit. I still don't know what the reason was that would make me spew.
The dreams stopped, but I don't know what made them stop.

1. The heater, whenever it came on, I would mentally pray for my brother to protect me. I'm glad I got over that one.
2. Our old fire detector, which sounded as if someone was shooting a machine gun. I would scream and cover my ears whenever it came on. I got over that one . . . perhaps because it has long stopped working.
3. Caterpillars. I hate the way they move, I find them hideous. I am still not over this fear, but I no longer scream when I see them or avoid places for weeks after spotting one.
4. Heights. I haven't been able to climb the ladder to the attic without losing my nerve and coming back down. When I'm up somewhere high, my legs feel weak, and I feel a strange desire to jump. X_X

Scared me as a child, and my son was also scared of the same thing.
Going over REALLY REALLY HIGH BRIDGES, AT NIGHT, WHEN ITS RAINING.
Like over the bridges over bays and rivers where it's high enough for tug-boats, fishing boats, or especially over the bridges over the inter-coastal water ways. Now they are some REAL high bridges.

As a child I seemed to have lots of fears - snakes, strangers, the dark, standing up in front of a group, people with deformities, the ocean, etc. I have gotten over most of those fears.

When I was a child, a loooong time ago, some people were afraid that the Germans and the Japanese were going to overrun the US.
Oh well, better them than Muslims.

The blob.
ha.
I watched it when I was five and for some reason it scared the living daylights out of me. I thought it was going to come up from under my bed and suck me into it.
No. I am not scared of the blob today.

I had a Donald Duck piggy bank that scared me so much I would stuff him in a drawer every night before I would go to bed.

The "monster" in the washing machine. It stemmed from a detergent commercial.
I have definitely worked past it....but I still make sure it's empty before I do laundry.

Yes I'm still afraid, I have lots of fears and they have lingered on 'till this day.....all I do is ask God to watch over me, sometimes the fear itself is more overwhelming then what I'm afraid of!
