Answer with GOOD reasons and not things like "cuz they just suk" Please explain why. I have no idea why people don't like them. What's so annoying about them? If they suck, then how did they have 8 singles already? (Perfect, I'm Just A Kid, Addicted, I'd Do Anything, Shut Up, Untitled, Welcome To my Life, Crazy) There are so many fans out there for them. Why do all the haters waste their time flipping them off and saying a lot of stupid **** to them? It doesn't make sense to me.

Personally, I like Simple Plan. Infact, they're my favorite band (oh no, I hope I don't get bashed for that). People have their own opinions about the music. Some people believe that Pierre has an annoying voice or the songs are "stupid". Those people have their own taste lyrics wise and vocal wise. Others are merely annoyed by the majority of the Simple Plan fans. That isn't a good reason to hate or dislike the band itself but the behavior of some of the fans can be discouraging.
Example:
Person 1: "OMGZ!!!!!oneeleven pIerRy is soooosoo HOTT i wil MARRieehim !111
Person 2: Um...okay, well then....you stick with that.
Person 1: PEEAIR IS MEIN BAK OFfff.

As I am a quebecer, I kind of feel obliged to like them LOL
Recently they did an outdoor show in my area to raise money for the local hospital... and I was like the only teen in a 50 miles-radius that wasn't going!!!
I think they're ok, but if they weren't locals, I wouldn't really care about them... I like Sam Roberts, Mobile and Mentake better!!
SP have good music, I agree, but the thing is Pierre's voice really gets on my nerves... It's like all the songs sound the same ;)
I *am* a huge fan of the song "I'm Just A Kid", though...
I love the fact that they sing in English, but I wish they would do a few songs in French, too [Sam Roberts did]!!!
And Melissa L., they are so not from Chicago, you must be thinking of another band or something LOL

I like Simple Plan, but they are kind of a packaged band. Their lyrics are bland and unoriginal and their melodies sound very similar. They are the typical teenage rock angst band, just like Hillary Duff is the typical pop princess, etc.
All that aside, you're right--give them credit where credit is due, they are a very successful band (from Chicago, yes!) However, they need to work on changing their image and try getting a little heavier if they want to evolve with the tastes of their fans. I also don't think everyone hates them--just those people who think they know everything about music and can't just enjoy some nice angsty rock.

I will tell you what I hate about them.They are full grown adults,and write lyrics for kids. Act your age,mama, not your shoe size.They targetted the audience that pays the most (teens),and laugh at the same audience later on,they are not sincere..They spit on people from their hotel balconies, which I find very moronic.I am from montreal,and I feel ashamed such a band made it big out of here.

They suck because they are trying to be something they are not. They say they are punk. Obviously they have no clue what true punk is. They do what's trendy. To answer your question about their record sales. Look at the majority of people that like them. Kids from age 12-17. That's all I have to say!!

I have no idea why people hate SP cuz gosh i luv them!!! they rock i luv their lyrics all their songs are awesome they write such great lyrics! i swear every single song everyone can relate to! Pierre is kinda hot and a awesome singer! and Chuck awesome! and David! gosh he is one of my influences for teaching myself bass! and Jeff. totally awesome witht he guitar and so is Sebastian(however you spell his name i can't spell it)but yeah i think they rock and they are like soooooo origional too! i have ALOT of fav songs from them!!! I will always be a fan of simple plan!!! no matter all the crap people say about them!♥SP for LIFE♥

I don't hate them but i dislike very much. All of their music sounds the same & their just whining about how much their life suck and how its all their parents fault. I don't need to listen to that! it's depressing and useless. I hate it when people say that its all their parents fault that their life is so messed up. That's bull. And they are so popular because of emotional teenagers.

I don't know, I kinda used to like them, but then all their songs started to sound the same, and I kinda don't like the guys voice. Now I hate them, but not everyone hates them. Just mostly everyone hated them. Here are the people I know who hate them...Me, my sister, my brother, my sisters friends, my friends, my brothers friends, most the people i talk to on chat, yeah, and mostly everyone else at school. Who likes them? My mom.....thats all I can think of, but really, they dont suck, I just hate them.

there are so many reasons i hate them... to name a few, his voice really annoys me, all of their songs sound pretty much the same, and i dont think they are that talented as far as bands go. also, they seem really fake. i cant even think of anyone who likes them but my 9 year old sister...
