If you have a concussion and were diagnosed by a doc...then i don't see why not.
When you really hurt your head you should try to stay awake for at least two hours simply because a concussion could cause you to not wake up (coma).
If you haven't been to the Doc....now would be a good time.

I slept for several hours after my first concussion... without even trying!
After that initial stage, you will have that "jelly in the head" feeling for a while. If you move at night you'll have that sensation, and it can make it tough to sleep for a while.

Yes, you certainly can. You should have a responsible friend check on you every 3 or 4 hours. They should wake you up and establish that you CAN be awakened. They should also note whether or not you seem normal to them, and whether you have a solid idea of where/who you are and what happened. If they think you seem weird, you should go to the hospital. If you experience numbness or if the dizziness and nausea worsen, you should go to the hospital. If you have increasing problems of any kind, you should go to the hospital. If your friend can't wake you, your friend should call 911. If you are functional enough to log on and type this, though, you should be fine. Just keep an eye on it and get medical help if it worsens.

Are you having other symptoms besides a headache? such as nausea vomiting blurred vision dizzy any of the above and I suggest you go to the emergency room a.s.a.p. no insurance or not and do not go to sleep for at least 4 haours after the injury even if you feel fine right after because the symptoms can occur any time after . Good Luck

In that situation, its best to have a friend or relative with you.
You can fall asleep (especially if it has been more than 12 hours since the injury), but have the friend wake you every couple of hours just to make sure you are not falling in too deep of a sleep.
p.s. I really feel sorry for Americans---no health insurance means so many of you don't get health care. People die all the time just becuase of situations like this.

Have someone wake you every few hours just to be sure, brain injury is nothing to fool with, even if you feel fine.

If you really do have a concussion you shouldn't, but since you haven't been diagnosed you can't really know if you do or not.
