Time is real if there's someone to measure it. It just needs to be a standard measurement of some objects constant movement. Whether it be a planet or an atom or the "time" when the mailman shows up everyday.

Time is a thought of measurement invented by man, based on a linear view of existence - past, present and future. Actually there is no such thing. For example, I am writing this answer at the same time you wrote your question, and your question and my answer both exist at the same time - now.

It's a human construct which helps us organize our lives and our experience of being alive. Animals always live in the eternal "Now" as do babies. Its when we begin to develop cognitively that we need to impose a chronological schema upon the world.
