What do you mean by cured? Eradicated?
Found a way to reverse all the effects and actually get rid of it?
Prevent it from happening?
Appendicitis is a disease. It's cured by appendectomy. Their are many examples of surgical cures.
Many other diseases are effectively managed with therapy.
If you want to do away with therapy, you do away with cures.
If you are looking to eliminate a disease from ever occurring, such as cancer, this will likely require effective gene therapy. Gene therapy is in it's infancy. But it has promise.
To answer your question better, I have to know what you mean by cure. That could mean a lot of things.
The final cure for all the ails of life is death.
Enjoy :)

In response to your additional details: None have been fully eradicated. Small pox is the closest. But still it still poses a threat, since all the specimens have not been destroyed, I would not say that human existence is free from it.
Still, we have beaten down many diseases by multiple means. Better nutrition, hygiene, safer childbirth, better working conditions, disease management, disease screening for early detection have allowed the average life expectancy to climb from 25 years at the time of Caesar to what we have today. Scientists and doctors have had roles in many of these areas.

We don't really cure something, it is mostly just helping with the symptoms. Most diseases have a course, at the end of the course, the patient either gets better or dies. What doctors do, just makes the process easier.

Polio- okay they didn't cure it, they just found a preventive measure...
I don't think there is any money in cures, then you no longer take the pills for the issue. Sick, huh?

"THEY" have the cure for almost every disease known to man, but then where would all the doctors, hospital owners, insurance comps and most importantly, the drug comps (the gov) get their big paychecks from? Health-or lack of- is too big business for them to actually cure someone

Because they are high class drug dealers you don't make money on the cure you make money on the come back so if no cure you'll be coming back for the meds.
