3D Magic, how do they do that?

Those funny pages that after you look long enough or a certain way it is like a pool of water with a object floating above the background.
I like them but how do they work?

I don't know but I was pretty impressed with 3D as a kid!
I remember watching "The Creature from the Black Lagoon" in my living room wearing my 3D glasses that came with the tv guide.

I thought that was the coolest thing!
