There's not a ton of stuff that you need. Extra clothes for you, super size maxi pads, a robe, baby's first outfit home, blankie & binki, diaper bag to put all the stuff the hospital gives you. Put the carseat in the car now so it's in safely.
If you want some lotion or stuff like that. I didn't bring any hair or make up stuff ( Figured there's no reason for it, gonna be in to much pain & to tired later on to use it- turned out to be true). Chapstick is a good one to bring. The hospital pretty much has everything you need except the clothes to go home in. I was fortunate that we lived less than a mile away from the hospital so my hubby could go home & get stuff, but I didn't need anything.

- a pack or two of neborn diapers
-big thick pads for yourself
-pj's like a big t-shirt or a button down nightie.....don't bother with a cute top and bottom pj set cuz you'll be naked most of the time at the hospital and the nurses need to check you....
or just wear the hospital nightgown (one forward and one backward)
- a going home outfit for the baby
- camera or camcorder
-receiving blanket unless your hospital provides this.
-money for the vending machine for your husband (he doesn't get fed...only you)
-list of phone #'s to call
-favourite pillow if you think you need
-you can't eat but you can buy some freezies
As for your house......make sure everything is prepared (crib, cltohes washed and folded, a heater (if you're from somehwere cold and a humidifier too).....
your house is cleaned and vacummed no harsh smelling chemicals that linger in the house......or use an air purifier/cleaner to clean the air
And most importantly make sure your carseat is installed and ready..........and CORRECTLY installed
Have your bags packed in the trunk or by the door.

Hi, When you go to the hospital, take your normal things, like toothbrush, etc. If you are having a natural child birth you will be given things from the hospital to help you. For your baby, take whatever you want. My daughter took lots of clothes and treated her baby like a doll, changing her all of the time and just spending time with her. She had a C-Section so she was in the hospital for a few days. The nurses will explain to you how to give a bath to your baby and to use baby lotion. They provide diapers, but you can take your own. You will need a carseat to bring your baby home in. For yourself, just take comfortable clothing. Good luck and Congratulations.

generally, the hospital gives you a list of what you need to bring with you. you don't really need anything for the baby until you are ready to go home. take a couple of nighties, maybe some track pants or a pair of comfy old pants. 2 packets of maternity pads, soap, shampoo etc. you might even want to buy some breast pads. something to read. you will probably only be there a few days if you have a natural birth. if you have forgotten anything, you can always get your hubby/b/f to pick them up for you. congratulations!!

Camera, Catcher's Mitt, Tooth Brush/paste, soap, shampoo, Your own Towels if you want and wash cloths, Extra Undies, Snacks, Drinks, Hair Brush. That about all I can think of off the top of my head.
I would not take money or Cell Phone as they may get stolen. Have family/friends bring if you need and take home when they leave.
