If you love her and she loves you then her parents shouldn't stand in the way. Just be nice and respectful to them. I don't think her being 3 yrs older will be a problem.

This may be a very complex situation. If I'm not mistaken it would be illegal with a North Korean and only possible with a South Korean if you are a US citizen.

Even if you can fill these criteria, there are big chances that her parents have already determined her future groom. The option of being completely rejected by our whole family can be quite difficult to overcome.

I wish you the best and take care of yourself.

Parents are possessive when in comes to matters of the heart and will definately wantto protect their child in what they think is best.
It will be difficult at first but once her parents see how happy you make her daughter feel and how well you take care of her, they will eventually accept you.
It was the same with me and my now husband. He is a catholic while i am a muslim and we ended in a civil marriage as i don't believe in conversion for the sake of convenience. The first 3 years was difficult for both my parents and his parents but now, they see how happy he makes me feel and how well he takes care of me, and they finally accept him as family.
