You may have an ovarian infection, or a uterian infection.
Ovarian infections are supplied with genetic material, while uterian infections are from unsanitariness.
Birth control pills MAY alter your period, however if its an infection the pills can worsen it.
You should have taken the pills as instructed regardless of what your mother says. She does not control you.
Go to your doctor again ASAP, and retrive medical care for this instantly.
If you leave this for too long, possibilities of any infections, the outcome can be removing your ovaries, and/or the uterus linning making you permanently INFERTILE.
Sincerely,
Tree

Yes, you can get birth control without your parents consent and without them knowing. First of all, you should seriously talk to your doctor. I had a friend with a similar problem and it turned out she had an iron difficiency. She was prescribed both iron pills AND birth control. Since you are young and birth control does get expensive (i have been on it for about year ... im 19 ... it gets pretty expensive) you should probably contact ur local planned parenthood, they can deffinately help you out. But the best thing is just sitting down with your parents and your doctor... maybe your doc. can convince your parents that the reason you are getting birth control is because of your period and NOT for sex. He/she might be a little bit more persuasive, and if that doesnt work, then just get them yourself from your doctor... it will remain confidential

Most birth control pills are synthetic steroid hormones which artificially prevent ovulation. The lie is, the Pill will "regulate periods." The truth is the menstrual flow is artificial, occurring only because the Pill was withheld for one week per month.
Normal menstruation is the result of the cyclic dynamic between natural estrogen and natural progesterone. With contraceptives, the flow is just a result of a clumsy, sledgehammer approach to "managing" one small aspect of an imponderably complex bio-system.
Long term, such a course is foolish, as it has the same pattern of side effects as those for estrogen dominance: coronary artery disease, breast cancer, endometrial cancer, strokes, high blood pressure, liver dysfunction, respiratory allergies, digestive disorders, depression, blood clots, osteoporosis, and weight gain.
Go to the doctor, and ask about natural way to help your bleeding. You don't want to start poisoning your body when you are only 16!!!

Yes you do have the right to make that decision. You have got to feel like crap a lot! Its not promoting sex at all. And not taking them when you had the chance should not be the reason either. Talk to your mom. If she still feels the same way. Go to the doctor by yourself. Tell them how you feel. Their first priority is to you not your mom. And your right there is a lot you don't know in 8th grade that you do in 11th.
Good luck!

If your mom is taking you to the doctor, I would just ask him about it any way. If he prescribed them when you were in 8th grade, then you probably do need them. Just tell your mom you are more mature now and will be responsible to take them. I don't know if you can get a prescription without her knowledge. I think that may depend on your age and where you live. Look in your phone book and call planned parenthood. Or when you go to the doctor ask him. You can probably request that your mother wait outside and talk to him in private. Good luck.

yes you need the pill, and if you have to talk to a school nurse, or some doctor that can talk your mom into letting you, any doctor would agree you need the pill for regulation, its unhealthy to have a period like that, so seriously talk to your mom again, if that dosent work talk to somebody that can convice her. Good Luck! dont give up! the pill really helps!!![i also had irregular periods, and a heavy flow, along with REALLYbad cramps, its so much better now]

Yes, you can get birth control without your mom needing to know about it. Go to www.plannedparenthood.com and look up the nearest location. I would suggest getting an exam through them just to make sure this is really just a funky period/hormones and not something going wrong with your insides, like ovarian cysts (AKA endometriosis, which runs in my family) or something like that. Also FYI, planned parenthood does everything on a sliding scale so if you have no income, they should cover that stuff for free (or close to it). Good luck :)

you need to go to the doctor and have it checked out more in-depth as to what the problem is. that is really abnormal to have a period like that, let alone horribly annoying! I'm sorry you have had to deal with that for so long. yes, you can go to planned parenthood and get the pills for super cheap or you can just take a prescription from your doctor to the pharmacy... only thing is, you have to pay for it. but, hopefully you have some insurance? that will help! a lot of my friends went to planned parenthood to get their birth control pills when i was in high school.
yeah, i lied to my mom in high school saying it was because of my period... haha... it definitely wasn't the reason for it... ok, so your mom needs to understand WHY you need them!!!

Talk to your local Planned Parenthood, they have professionals on staff that can at least answer your questions regarding your period. Although it is irregular in regards to how most people have their periods, it may be normal for you. When you go in though make sure you stress how your cycle goes, there are different pills with differing effects and perhaps one can not only regulate you but stop the really heavy flow.

Yes you can get birth control with out your mothers consent or with out her even knowing about it.
Contact your local Planned parenthood. Set up an apt. Its all confidential and you should start getting your yearly pap smear anyway.
You need to do what you think is necessary to take care of your body. And yes...the pill usually help with regulating your period.
You should get a check up anyway to make sure you dot have an underlying problems.
