Its to prove you recognize the information. I'm going for nursing and well...I definately have to know if someones Bicarb is high or low and what it means...cause I might miss something that might kill my patient. Experience really is the best teacher, but reading and the testing the recognition is the fastest and cheapest learning shortcut we have right now.
