he retired- left WWE went to WCW then basically retired..was inducted into the WWE hall of fame by Stone cold Steve Austin last year, came out with a video but as far as wrestling he's done

What happened to Bret Hart is:
He got screwed in Montreal in '97 Summerslam.
His brother died in '99
He had a bicycle accident in 2000 or 2001 which seriously injured him, so he is still recovering
His dad died at the age of 83 in 2002 or something
He got inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame 2006
He and his wife went to Italy and they are currently living there.

He had a severe concussion due to an errant kick to the head by Goldberg in December of 1999. This and his steroid use lead to a stroke about 2 of 3 years later. He also got divorced during this time. Eventually, he 'forgave' Vince McMahon for the Montreal incident and his brothers death and agreed to allow the WWE to use his past footage for the DVD as long as he was given creative control for the material. Lately, he has done some public work in his community. I do believe he did appear in some sort of play. I also believe he has gotten remarried.

The greatist wrestler of all time retired because of a serious concussion suffered at the hands of Goldberg. Years later he crashed while riding his bike and had a mild stroke. He remarried to an Italian woman and lives now in both Canada and Italy. As an American I am depressed that I can't see him as much as I used to be able to when he wrestled. He was the reason I started really watching wrestling in the first place.

Brett Hart is some type of an owner of the Calgary hitmen (low level canadian hockey team) When Owen died Brett was NEVER the same and he left wrestling soon after that. If he left becaue of Goldberg don't know but he did leave because of what happened to Owen.

he was forced to retire after a kick from goldberg in 1999 left him with multiple concusions which were from earlier matches that day...not just goldberg. he retired officially on October 26th of 2000. In 2002 he suffered a stroke after a bicycle accident and still is emotionally imbalanced but in good health. In Feburary of 06' it was announced he would be inducted into the hall of fame. Wrestlemania 22 he did not show up with the other inductees because he did not feel comfortable with the event which i thought was wrong on his part cause of a lot of boos after it announced he was not coming. Though earlier interviews said he was never really interested in the hall of fame to begin with. He is still occationally associated with wrestling in some way or form and considered still as one of the best technical wrestlers ever as well as one of the greatest champions of his era

Sorry, he's not coming back. He's retired. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame last year. He recently had a DVD come out earlier this year. Anyway's wrestling has moved on it's sad to say.
