I look at conditions in America as being like the pendulum on a clock, it swings right, and then it goes left, we are in the right swing now but I think that it will slowly go back to the left and the country will make strides toward progress. Actually the best of times in America is when the pendulum has swung and it is dead center in the middle. That is our system of checks and balance and I certainly hope it starts swinging back soon.

No, don't give up. This what the politicians want you to do. Instead, start practicing what you believe in. Vote on the issues that matter to you. Vote for the leaders you think represent you the best. Don't preach to others about what you think, that only turn more people off. Instead lead by example. If enough people would do this, soon it would spread. Look, we won't fix this problem in one or two elections. It will take decades to strain all the dirt out of the government. If every American votes for what they think is right, the choices for our representatives will get better. Also teach your children to get involved also. Show them what the American dream was about and how they can still have it. Americans have got to understand that the government is here to represent them, not tell them how to live their lives.

I sympathies with you . This country has let our soldiers down , big time .
If there were enough military in Iraq fighting , there would be time for more to come home to see their family's , more often .
Their family's are suffering too and we need to pay attention to that , we need to raise their pay , after all can you put a price on your life , that they are fighting for and see to it that they are as safe as possible , with up to date modern. equipment , the best that money can buy .
The military should provide the family's with physical and mental help , right up front , free of charge .
You should be provided with someone to talk with , when you need it .
God Bless you and your family and keep your loved one safe from harm . I have someone there too.
iheart bu I know just what you mean , if the American people were treated like the military family's are treated , they wouldn't take it . Hang in there girl . I know It's hard !!!!!!!

lol That one guy's right. Come to Canada. Better health care, better education, and we use a measuring system that actually makes sense. And to defend this great country, who says it's freezing cold here? The one thing that pisses me off the most is when Americans automatically assume that we walk around in frickin parkas 12 months of the year. Just a comparison, I get really mad when Canadians automatically assume that all you guys are as stupid as that president of yours. You know as well as I do that that's not true, and the only way our two countries can move forward is if we cut through the stereotypes.
Come to Alberta though, just to be on the safe side :D

ITS TRUE!!!
My husband is in the military too and I feel your pain... they dont give a cr*p that the military member loves his family as long as he's still able to show up at work. "IF IT WASNT ISSUED TO YOU, YOU DONT NEED IT"... My husband gets treated like crap... HYPOCRACY EVERYWHERE!!!
We joined the military with high hopes and good impressions... but so many of the people around here are terribly trashy and stupid... so many people he works with wont do thier job and the chain of command fails because everyone is buddied up. We havent seen a great deal of integrity around here at all... Its even worse than the civilian world becasue people have chips on thier shoulders because they are military...
Its so incredibly depressing, I know exactly how you feel... we expected to meet good no nonsense people but instead everywhere we turn its just a bunch of stupid a**holes ruining everything and doing something shameful.
I'm sad to know that I'm not the only person who feels this way... but I'm glad that you said something... I don't think people want to worry about the kind of people they let represent America...
I think about Guantanomo Bay and all kinds of other things you hear that these people did and after meeting some of them i'm not surprised at all... some of them even walk around bragging about it....
Its depressing...
there are some good people here... they seem to keep tp themselves also.
sometimes I want to just run away too, but I would never leave my husband, I love him more than everything!
just hang in there! you aren't the only one who feels hurt by this!!!
my husband and I still have five more years to go... I hope you dont have as long.
Don't pack your bags as long as you still love each other!!

Whatever shape this country is in, having lived in other countries, I can tell you, Americans still have it the best. As for the condition of the country, it is a direct result of its own citizens. If you want priority and importance to be placed on people that matter: police, teachers, military, etc, then you have to focus your attention to them, NOT sports figures, movie and TV stars. These people make big money and get all of the attention because people give it to them. The military, which seems to be your gripe, has never been family oriented. It remains a "man's world" and families are seen as extra baggage. Still, our military has it better than military in other countries. You can still be patriotic and love your country, and find other ways to serve it than being in the military.

Where is it you plan to go Missy? You'll be going it alone, you know that right? Your hubby has a job with the US Government, he is Military Personnel. He isn't going anywhere. NO, the military doesn't give two hoots about you as a family and if you're going to make your marriage work, that's the first thing you better accept. Duty, Honor, country ----- God, country, self -----It's never been about family.
The only hope I can give you is in yourself. You have to keep living your life with integrity and be morally and ethically driven in your life. Believe in your husband and what he does and don't ask him questions. This whole world is a mess, there is no where to go that is any better than the USA. It's about who you are, not where you are, so be your best and your life will have meaning.
We are the only hope we have, so we can't give up on ourselves.

people who've the lion's share, who're asked to "provide up" purely somewhat ***** the loudest. And that's humorous because of the fact there is the criticism approximately pressing a million for English. Ten years in the past the criticism became which you would be able to could press 2 for English. Now pressing a million isn't sturdy sufficient.

This country is stupid, end of discussion. It has nothing to do with democrats and republicans either. It's just the fact that everyone is so stuck on being the most powerful country, yet we can't hurt anyone's feelings. We need to keep out of other nation's business and stop eating at McDonald's for breakfast... Look at Europe... They're obviously doing something right...

Patriotism is loyalty to your country, not your government. We can change our government at the ballot box to make our country great again.
As for "all the beliefs we started this country on" -- be careful with that one, the founders were deists not necessarily Christians, and the "men" who were created equal were white male landowners. Like I said, patriotism is loyalty to your country not your government, and working hard to make your government better.
