I know who they are but is all they do is cool basketball stuff or do they actually have real basketball skills and play in games and stuff

they are some of the most talented basketball players and entertainers ever. Their games come in the form of comedy for their audiences, but they are very skilled players.

The Harlem Globetrotters were at first a serious competitive team, with a flair for entertainment. They would only clown for the audience after establishing a safe lead in the game. They beat the premier professional team, the Minneapolis Lakers, for two games in a row in 1948 and 1949. Eventually,they gradually worked comic routines into their act until they became known more for entertainment than sports. In 2002 the team was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Oh they can play basketball. If they couldn't they wouldn't have been chosen for the honor to be called a Globe Trotter.
However, they are a performance team. They play charity events and other events showing off their unique skills and abilities and basically entertaining us.
I've love Globe Trotters since I was a kid.

they actually play games. i went to a Globetrotters game this past summer. they played against the equivalent of a "farm team"
in baseball. I'm not sure what they are called in basketball. I'm from Texas, so like the Rangers have the Rough Riders, the NBA teams have teams that are not quite to the NBA level yet, but the majors use them if they need them. they are kinda inbetween a college team and the big time NBA

They are an exhibition basketball team. It is for entertainment only not a real competitive team. However, the players on the team are highly skilled. Fun to watch.

I think its all about entertainment. They're really quite awesome. I saw them about 20-30 years sgo. Pretty cool.

they arer all about the tricks they used to play games where they just did a bunch of tricks in the game but not sure if they still do
