I bought a fertility monitor. They are kinda pricey ($150.00), but SO worth it. Takes ALL the guess work out of it. You buy sticks that go into the monitor. Starting on day 9 from when you have your first day of your period, you start testing every morning at the same time. I pee in a cup & then put the stick in that, this way I make sure to get it right cuz like I said, the little buggers are expensive. The monitor takes about 5 minutes. You come back & read your results. You start out low. Then as your estrogen builds, it will go to high, stay there for 4-6 days, then when your body releases the hormone to make you ovulate, the monitor will show you at peak ( I get so excited to see that every month because I know the exact days ) the monitor will then show peak the day after, then down to high, then to low again. If you end up having your period, you just start the monitor over again on the 1st day of your cycle. We have a fertility issue & this monitor has really been helping us so that we know exactly what days I'm fertile.

The only way for you to know if and when you are ovulating is to take your basal body temp each morn, same time and before you get up. You should see a pattern in temps that leads up to and after ovulation. You can get the basal thermometer at Wal-Mart for about 8 dollars. I use a wonderful FREE website called Fertilityfriend.com...it graphs your temps for you, keeps track of your fertility signs, tells you when you ovulate and also tells you if there is an implantation dip in your temps. You can also use Ovulation prediction kits, but they only measure your LH surge and give you a ball park time for ovulation...they do not pin point it. Oh, and it is possible to be ovulating while you do not have your period, just like it is possible to have a period and not ovulate.

Cassandra, to get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

Having intercourse from behind helps because it places the sperm closer to where its needed to go. And nothing comes out.

Have sex around 13-15 days before you start your next period.

Ive heard that putting you legs up after intercourse is good but someone told me that it doesn't help, it just places the sperm at your cervix. Try lye down about 30 minutes straight after because nothing comes out that way.

Your man needs to make sure that you have an orgasm. It has been suggested that when a woman orgasms the chances of pregnancy are higher.
