Yeah, and it has caused problems in class. I was always the best student in every academic subject in high school, and some of the kids I went to school with hated me for screwing up the curve, or always knowing the answer to everything. Nothing I could help, I was born this way, but still some of the other classmates treated me different, except when they wanted help with something. Then they would come to me for help and act as if they weren't complete hypocrites.

Yes. This one girl threatened to kill me because I got better grades than her in history class and I didn't even study for it. Whereas she studied her a** off and barely passed the class. Oh...she was a senior in a freshman history class; I was a freshman in the appropriate class for my grade level. She said she picked on me because I was ugly(in her eyes), and I'm not doubting or discounting her opinions, but I also saw how much she struggled for her grades and how little she spoke up in class compared to me; so since I was the nerdy girl with no friends in class; I was an easy mark for her.

Some people have been jelous of my intellect, but for the most part I am average so while the answer is yes, not many people have been jelous of me.

I'd like to think that every time someone says "It's not polite to correct people" that they are showing their envy..
yeah envy would be the right word, jealousy is when you have something and you don't want someone else to have it, envy is coveting what someone else has

every yahoo answers user is jealous of my brain, they send me hate email sometimes but I think its envy. Its the downfall of western europeans, attack what they dont know.
