How would a UN look that actually fulfilled its charter? What would need to change in order for it to stop being a laughing stock?

Can't ever see it working under its current charter. Basic Maslow stuff. You look after the base needs first before you start worrying about lofty ideals. Base needs in this case being the national and regional interests of its members.

Give them more military strength. If any country doesn't abide the International Law, then it should face harsh consequences. In addition, leaders in the UN should be given more decision-making power. Nowadays, nothing really gets done in the UN because of indecision.

I would bring countries together that have similar concepts based on religion, economy and politics .Forget the un, divide the world accordingly.

give it the muscle it needs - economic sanctions up the wazoo to all who did not heed the rules
