Yes, I believe in the death penalty. If someone kills someone else, they should know they will face death for it. Maybe there wouldn't be so many crowded prisons now.

I know a woman who paid to have her husband killed and is now out after 8 years. Is this really fair? Many people murder others and are free to walk the streets in 10 years. That doesn't seem like a big price to pay to kill someone, knowing you'll be walking the streets in a few years and it's no big deal.

Drug dealers get more time than murders most of the time. If you knew that you would die if you killed someone, I don't think there would be as many murders.

Death penalty also should be done quickly, not 10 or 20 years down the line. Those who don't believe in the death penalty, why should someone be able to kill someone else and not expect the same for themselves. At least most on death row are killed much more humanely than the torture they put their victims through.

Why should us, the taxpayers pay for these people to live their life when they didn't care for one minute that they took the life or lives of someone else? I would rather spend my money on something more constructive.

I don't care much either way.

On the one hand, I'm fine with convicted murderers being sentenced to death. Some bring up the issue of bad verdicts, where the person turns out to be innocent. In my opinion this is a problem with juries and their bad verdicts, not with the penalty. Maybe any idiot juror that sends an innocent person to the chair should be sent to the chair themselves.

On the other hand, I don't really mind if they just stay in jail the rest of their lives either. A lifetime in prison can be worse than death in some cases. And in terms of cost to the taxpayer, it costs more to put someone to death than to sentence someone to life, because of all the fast-track appeals that death row inmates are allowed to make.

Yes I'm for the death penalty but I don't agree with the methods used to do it. Electrocution needs to be banned, as does lethal injection and the gas chamber. All three of those methods are very painful, if even for a short time. We have cyanide, which is painless and fast, why don't we use it for capital punishments instead of the barbaric methods we use now?

yes i think if you are found guilty beyond reasonable doubt then the punishment should fit the crime........why should you be able to end ones life and yet still be able to breath and enjoy the sun...your victim cant......if the penalties became stronger and the death penalty was re introduced in all countries then i think the crime rate will drop.........an eye for an eye

No, I think that no one because of what they did deserves to be put to death at the hands of another human being.
