What kind of heater, if any, will work in an acrylic fish tank. The tank is small, only about 2.5 gallons.

Any will work, but with a 2.5 gallon, you can't exactly fit a heater in it.

You can buy a junior heater for those little tanks. Just be careful because they don't have a thermostat and are always on. You'll need a thermometer and take the heater out in the summer if the water starts to get too hot. **

dear Camille,
Yes you can put heaters in acrylic fish tanks, depending on the type of tank and size on what kind of heater i would go with. Feel free to email what size and kind of tank you have and i can better answer your question djnelson@aquarealmaquarium.com

Not 100% sure if this will work, but petstores sell heaters for the plastic kritter keepers, they stick to the side or underneath. You can find them with the hermit crab stuff in the petstores. Heres a link to one http://www.petdiscounters.com/product.php?productid=1045003&cat=276&page=1

yes, just don't put a very high wattage one in there as you may end up with fish for dinner.
