I,ve always heard it as 'The eyes are the window to the soul' You can make what you will of it but I believe if you look a person in the eye and vice versa you can read something about that person in some instances.

No, I say the eyes are the window to the soul..... The eyes can tell so many stories... If you are happy, sad, excited... If you heart has been broken, or if you are in pain....
The eyes tell stories even when you do not want it known, they speak to others, you lose control... Say what you will, but the eyes speak volumes about the secret person , and show deep into your soul...........

Not the doors, but the windows. Yes. You can tell a lot by the eyes--even health issues such as past exposure to diseases.

well the poets and songwriters always say so ... i guess that means yes.
It's a nice cliche. Even a romantic cliche. In all fairness you can read a lot about a person through their eyes. So maybe its true.
