i had an ultrasound at 6.1 weeks and found that i'm having twins, yay!
twin 1's heartbeat was 116, twin 2's was 112.
i had another ultrasound at 9.4 weeks and
twin 1 was 150 and twin 2 was 117.

as your pregnancy progresses, shouldnt their heartrates go up? the tech said the other may of been sleeping and or resting. i go for another ultrasound thursday, i just wanted some feedback for my brain until then. i get scanned so frequently because i'm high risk and have been on bed as well as complete pelvic rest.

the doctor said that they're the one's heartrate is still in moderate range and is fine. when and if it drops below 100 is cause for concern. i was just under the impression that they increased with gestational age.

I dont think they go up. At 7 weeks my daughter's heartbeat was 160. It stayed between 150-165 throughout my whole pregnancy.

Based on two healthy, single pregnancies, I don't believe that it is true that the heart rate increases with gestational age. Both girls' heart rates were around 150 to 170 the entire pregnancy. I do seem to recall that boys and girls have different heart rates but that they don't differ by much. I am sure (at least I hope) your doctor would let you know if s/he was concerned. Good luck!

I don't know if it is a wives tale or not but girls heartrate is usually 115-125 where as a boys heartrate is is higher. The heart rates you have seem normal the is no twin to twin transfusion that hear rates would be different?

i had twins as well... it is normal for heart rates to flux. also, is it possible you may be having two sexes. I did and my sons heart rate was always faster than my daughters. Don't worry...if there was anything to be concerned about you would be in the hospital now. Good luck to you and don't be scared twins aren't that bad....you just got to get the routine down..
