my x of 7.5 yrs. finally decides,
after a year of getting back together,
that I dont have at least 3 of 4 qualities he wants.
recently, I text him about boxes of mine at his house.
now he wants me for the night.

It really depends on what you want. If YOU only want one night and think that after that one night that you can still go on without him, then go for it (I myself have the hardest time doing that). Even though he is your X of 8 yrs and you are im sure extrememly comfortable with him, do you think you might feel uncomfortable with this situation since you know he doesnt want anything but the night? If you want him to keep wanting you then I say no

Seems to me you are with a pretty vain and opaque person. It took 7.5 years to get him out of your life? What took you so long? Jeze, stay away from him! If you go back you get what you deserve which will be nothing but trouble and heartache.
