I am currently 37weeks pregnant. Since July i have been on bedrest because i had an incompetent cervix. Then it turned out that i had diabetes. The diet alone wasn't working so now i have to take insulin 2x a day. Also in july, i fell down a escalator and had my feet swollen to the point where if i walked it felt like they were going to break. I go to the doc 2x a week for a non stress test due to the diabetes. For the last 2 days my sugar and blood pressure have been high. I go back to the doc tomorrow so that he can take anther look at my diabetes numbers because he had to increase the medicine a week or two ago. Because of the diabetes the doc wants to induce me around the beginning of nov. I had an ultrasound today and the baby is already 7 pounds 9 ounces. So my question is do you think that i should ask to be induced next week. I am so tired of the pelvic pain, insulin shots, finger sticks and running to the hospital when he doesn't move like he is suppose to.What should I do?

Why Is Labor Induced?
1.The pregnant woman has high blood pressure caused by pregnancy.
2.The woman has health problems, such as diabetes, that could harm her or her baby.

I think you can ask, but I think it's more likely he would stick to the first-week-in-November induction.

You should know, you aren't unique in being tired of the end stages of pregnancy, and even the relatively unique problems of the insulin shots. As sympathetic as your doctor may be to how you feel, he/she sees it in every single pregnant woman treated. While your doctor may have sympathy for you, he's probably going to try to get you to carry the baby for as long as you can before inducing, to allow for the maximum amount of development.

I hate that this time has been so difficult on you. I know it's miserable.

I would if I was you. I did ask to be induce because I was tired of being pregnant so certain reason and doctor let me. I will warn you though. Being induce they say labor takes alot longer then it would if ya went into labor natural. I was 2cm 80% defaced when I was induced and still took 14 hours. But the 14 hours was worth it then having to deal with waiting longer to go into labor

Well... you might wanna wait on that because I was exactly 37 weeks when my water broke, I had gestational diabetes. She was induced even though I didn't want her to be, so hold off for about a week (I know it's hard hon!) and see what happens. You mentioned that he doesn't move much... well that's exactly what my daughter did the night before my water was leaking. Try to hold off the best you can then ask about the induction. Good luck to ya mama!

First, I am very sorry to hear that this pregnancy has been so hard on you!
Second, it is best to give the baby as much time as possible but, with that said, your comfort and health are a very big consideration. The best person to answer this question, of course, is your OB. He will only do what is best for you and the baby. Good luck and I hope all is well with both of you.

GOOD GOD! I thought I was having it rough! Im sorry to hear about your situation, and the answer is yes! I would def. be asking to be induced. You are at a point now that your baby will be fine. I hope that your labor goes smoothly and that you will go back to normal very quickly. Sorry for your pain!

when dealing with these kinds of problems you have to see if the pros outweigh the cons. i would think so with your case. the only bad thing that i can think of is that the baby's lungs may not be as developed as they would be if you waited until 40 weeks. but you are past the critical 35 week point that the doctors want you to be before you have a baby. Your baby is fully developed and now he/she is just fattening up.

talk to your doc about it and see what he thinks about it.

I don't think it's your choice, it's up to the doctor.
I had to be induced because my baby was getting too large. He was way too comfy in there!

I would insist that I be induced. Baby is safe and your in danger.

You should wait because it may be harmful to you or your unvorn. Just wait till the doctor says or it happens normally. i was going through something similar and I waited.
