First, pick some values of x. I would start with 0. Pick about 3 or 4 values.

Then, solve for y. Ex:

when x=0, y= -2
when x=2, y= 0
when x=4, y= 2

After getting all the values for y, graph each point. Remeber, this is an ascending graph, meaning that the slope of the graph is positive. Connect the points on the line making sure that the line goes past the last points in the right direction, since there is no definitive point where the solutions for y stop.

it is nearly impossible to represent a graph with this ascii answer box

I will assume that if you had several ordered pairs (that means the points with an x and y value) like (2,3) that you could make the dots on a graph and plot them

If you can't do that part you have some serious reading and study to catch up on

a value table just means a place where you choose an "x" value (any one you want, but choosing numbers that make for easy arithmetic is easier) and then you calculate the "y"

y=x-2

choose x=2, y must be 0 (because y=2-2=0)

choose x=0, y must be -2 (again, y=0-2=-2
x=3, y=1

the table might look like this:
x y
2 0
0 -2
3 1

because the equation is a straight line (no x squared or y squared or the like, just x and y and a number), then you only need 2 points to determine the line but it is nice to have a third one to double check

plot the ordered pairs from the table (2,0) (0,-2) (3,1) and then draw a line through them
if you've done it right it should be a straight line

when making the table you can choose any values for x, and then calculate the y that goes with it

good luck

just make a table. if y=0 x=2 if y=1 x=3 if x=1 y=-1. then plot the points.

#1 you set up a table:
y=x-2

x y
-2 -4 y=-2-2
-1 -3 y=-1-2
0 -2 y=0-2
1 -1 y=1-2
2 0 y=2-0

then you graph the point: (-2, -4) (-1,-3) (0,-2) (1,-1) (2,0)
