we probably would not have changing seasons in the temperate regions; the equator, tropics, and subtropics would be constantly hot or summer. Moreover, the polar regions would not experience alternating long periods of darkness and light.

Moreover, if the earth's axis of rotation is vertical, then we would have the same point for the earth's MAGNETIC NORTH and GEOGRAPHIC SOUTH. There would be no adjustment needed for the 10 degree aberration. Today because the earth's axis of rotation is vertical, the magnetic north is some distance away from the geographic south (which are both found in the southern hemisphere near the poles)

We would not have the seasons.
Seasons are caused by the leaning of either the Northern or Southern hemisphere away or towards the sun. In our summer, the Northern hemisphere is leaning towards the sun. This means that more direct sun rays hit the Northern hemisphere at this time. Curiously, summer is also when the earth is farthest away from the Earth in its orbit (shows how important the axis is as opposed to the distance).
The axis of the Earth is not constant but slightly changes over a long period of time (many thousands of years). This variation causes the repetitive Ice Ages and other geological events.

Seasons is what you are looking for... but it is really more complicated than that because the earths axis has migrated over time. so while it was vertical we wouldn't have the seasons that we currently... but (at least on a geological scale) it wouldn't last forever

All planets are tilted to three degree or different, it is a common action of a gyroscope. some say it also might want to were ice a at the same time as concentrating glaciers close to the north pole then melting and repeating over tens of millions of years. The moon might want to have helped besides. yet we are no longer particular.
