What do you do when you’re in a perpetual state of consciousness that you’re living an illusion, yet you lack the courage or wisdom to see with clarity?

(With all due respect, kindly refrain from God references.)

Our mind is conditioned to accept or to reject. Can you look at the illusion without acceptance or rejection? If you accept it the show is going on and if you reject it the show is temporarily stop, but sooner it will go on again. You cannot dissolve your illusion by your will. You must learn to observe without judgment. Acceptance and rejection of our mind is judgment. The true observation is when the observer is absent.(the will). This is the true meditation. Just feel all the emotions envolve and let them fade away but not by your intention. This is what they call the middle way. Remember you are just observing the tip of the iceberg. You have to find out by yourself

Of the folly which takes the unreal for real
Comes the wretchedness of birth.

The pure of vision undeluded
Shall taste radiant joy.

To those freed of doubt and clear
More than Earth is Heaven near.

Where a sense of the Real is lacking,
The other five senses are useless.

The mark of wisdom is to see the reality
Behind each appearance.

Those who have learnt to see the reality here
Will have learnt not to come back here.

Reality once searched and seized
No need to think of rebirth.

Wisdom is that rare realization
Which removes the folly of rebirth.

To one who clings and does not cling
Clinging ills will not cling.

Where lust, wrath and delusion are unknown
Sorrow shall not be.

Wisdom is the reward for lessons learned, to learn the lesson courage maybe required to face the illusion, only then can you gain wisdom by it-experience.
Try and step back from the situation and then look in as if seeing somebody elses life it is a great way to seeing what we are blind to. Give yourself time and get to know the inner child, and try to see yourself as if in somebody elses shoes, again its a great way to get to know yourself.
It helps with seeing things more clearly, finding the courage to certain situations and the wisdom picked up to take with you tomorrow.

Force yourself to turn & face the truth that you fear. Courage isn't the absence of fear, it's feeling the fear but doing it anyway. Wisdom is also a choice to see clearly, to know what's real. If you know you're living an illusion then you owe it to yourself to be genuine. Most people choose to live a lie because it's easier. Most people keep themselves so busy that they don't have time to think or realize the lie they're living. Consciousness is the first step...

If you know better, do better. Unless you're enjoying the circus...

Never underestimate the power of denial! We all fall victims to it.

You are not looking for answers you are looking for the inner strength to break the illusion. You know what to do so stop whining and do it or quit talking about it.

shoot the clown, there is nothing more tragic than the death of comedy; and yet, how illustrative the action would be of the tragedy of life. better to embrace the pacifying illusion than to be reborn into a world of reality, as far as courage and wisdom go, i prefer to call upon their services only when they serve as functions of euphoria, and thats exactly where you should be headed, strive for pleasure in art and in drugs. thats the best advice i can give.

Walk away and then turn and look back and see if you can't see a bit better. You may be too close to it.
