Studds retired a number of years ago. He died last week.
But when he had sex with minors the Democrats changed the issue to his homosexuality, and skirted the underage issue.
I applaud you walking away from the two party system.

He didn't and he's not. Gerry Stubbs was accused in a scandal so long ago that Senators were wearing butterfly freakin collars. If there was any evidence of his wrongdoing that brought the Ethics committy to do more than censure it is lost to history. Most importantly he didn't break the law and despite the scandal people thought he was a good enough Senatory that he was re-elected. Foley broke a Federal Law that he helped draft and worse than being a criminal he was a huge Hypocrite, denouncing both homosexuality and child abuse publically while he notoriously chased young boys.
Vote for the candidate you feel is right or vote against the condidate you think is wrong.

He had been out of office quite a while before dying recently. I find it interesting the "timing" of Studds death was just weeks after the Foley incident. I wonder if the Repubs had him killed to drive the Foley incident off the front pages...

1) He died this week. Ironic, don't you think?
2) He was retired for many years before that.
It is interesting to note the difference in the way they were treated both by their own parties & by the opposing parties. Says a lot about party values.

That is because democrats can't stand competition and someone threatening their monopoly on sexually assaulting children.
When Foley decided to practice his liberal lifestyle the dems were having none of it; after all they protect child molesters if they vote/work for them.

He stayed in office because, unlike Republican Mark Foley (who resigned), Democrat Studds simply REFUSED to resign, and nobody did a damn thing about it. How shameless is that?

I didn't realize that a dead man could hold office. I thought that along with the citizenship and age requirements, one had to be ALIVE.
But maybe that is me and my ignorance speaking again. . .
