don't worry about it my youngest son is 4 months and started to crawl 2 weeks ago, they all learn to do things when they are ready not when people expect them to.and the doctor will tell you the same thing. people don't expect them to learn so early but it does happen, and you learn that not every one knows whats best for your child you learn with experience and by taking on board what everyone says.

I was crawling at 4 and walking at 6 months. Nothing is wrong with him?! That's not early at all. People carry their kids too much and don't let them learn new things as fast as they used to. My little brother didn't start walking till 1 and a half, but my other four siblings all started between 5-7 months.

One of my girls was crawling at 5 months. She would do the army crawl for about a month then the full crawl. She walked independently at 13 months

I know how it is to have a preemie and wonder at everything they do, and is it normal. It may seem to you that your boy is doing things out of order, and maybe you think that it's not proper development. My son was born 7 weeks early and crawled the week he turned 6 months. I certainly didn't think there was something wrong with milestones being reached and neither did his pediatrician, in fact he was tickled pink about it, delays are what I would be concerned about. on the subject of delays and since you are concerned about his development, know that boys born early who reach physical milestones early are very likely to have mild to moderate speech delays. Don't worry, it is just that boys talk later then girls in general, preemies talk later, and those babies that are concentrating on physical achievements can't be bothered with talking, so just be prepared for that possibility and enjoy your busy boy.

My middle daughter sat at 4 months, crawled at 5 months and walked at 7 months. It can be early and perfectly normal. My daughter has had an awesome throwing hand since 9 months, is left handed, and very bright. Maybe these are his early signs of his eagerness to thrive.... go with it and help him along.

YES, Crawling at 6 months is fine. Ignore your mom and sisters. Listen to your pediatrician (for the most part).

There is nothing wrong with your child. He just wanted to get a head start on exploring. It is uncommon for baby's to crawl that early but since he is.... let him go. Good for the little guy!!!!!
