Are there certain kind of guys that are considered taboo to marry? I've heard that I wouldn't want to marry an athlete, an actor, and any guy in the military (that's just a few). The reasoning goes anywhere from being a control freak to being too promiscuous. Can anyone concur with any of those or dispute them? Men AND women feel free to comment...

Just depends on the life style you can handle. Military men travel or deploy, Doctors/Lawyers are never home???? It depends on wether you two have what it takes to stay together through out no matter what. My mom struggled raising 2 kids when my dad was away with the military(overseas), she always told me I was too needy to be with that type of guy. And she was right. I found a sweet mechanic.lol

The good and bad thing about sterotypes is that they are like 1/2 true. So one can paint with a broad brush .. and chose what one likes and dislikes. but they aren't really taboo.

Now many can break from their sterotype .. but there will be echos.

I think that one has to make one's own choises of what is taboo and what is not. Taboo varies some from region to region .. and then you will have your likes and dislikes. Taboo can be fun. )

athletes like to do sport and watch and it will take time.
- and you may or may not care

military guys like guns and often like to talk about war and hunting. and they get lots of chances to have other women. But most also love their wifes even if they cheat. Most don't cheat.
- not univeral, but nearly so.

actors love to act, and play some games on friends and family.
--Robin Williams once had his son say .. I want to see the real you...and to his surprise Robin wasn't sure which was the real him.

Ms Hurst loved her kidnappers. this probably should be avoided.

do you want to be a 2nd wife? most don't, some do.

Most hobbies and carrers can be accomidated. It is the personal quirkyness that can get in the way .. and if someone is getting dangerous .. these should be avoided.

I read an article about how women shouldn't fall in love with the men with a particular passion. For example, bikers, bodybuilders, or artists. The reasoning is that their passion for their hobby can be so encompassing that it will always come before the wife.

I've never fallen in love with either, but I've known both bikers and artists, and I can definately see where a woman would feel neglected after a while.

There are good and bad people in all walks of life and in every profession. If you decide to exclude a certain group you may miss out on the love of your life! Look at the individual person & not his job before considering whether or not to date him. Then when you date him you will get to know what kind of person he really is and can make a more educated decision from there.
