Ummm, I'm a real athletic guy, so if I had to teach somebody all that I know, I'm not sure any girls I know would be able to do most of the stuff. I'll go with man.

Whether it's a man or women going for the job,wouldn't bother me.It's who I would feel would do a better job,and who has the true passion to learn is who would get the job/apprenticeship.
