I would say MORE POWER TO YA! These people are old, and have to choose between paying their heating bill, and taking their heart medication. It really IS a life or death choice. The only problem is, if they get drugs that aren't what they claim to be. I know it's illegal, but if the only thing keeping my grandparents alive was a trip to Canada...they mean more to me than G.W. Bush's ridiculous political agenda.

I was in my doctor's office the other day and noticed an ad from a drug company, offering free or reduced cost meds to those who cannot afford them. I wonder if the reason Canada can offer drugs at reduced prices is that they don't need to fund free drug programs. BTW, I lived in Canada and the drugs were no bargain - and not covered under govt health insurance.

Well as a Canadian I think its alright to a degree, but I mean if we start having shortages because we have to supply another country with cheap drugs its not very good. My thought is how would the american government feel if canadians were going down there for cheaper drugs? They'd tax us and tax us until the cows came home, so the seniors are still getting it easy from us.

I believe that a law was just passed that allows people to get meds from Canada. I'm not sure though. I think that people should be allowed to get meds wherever they want, especially if they will save money.

Believe me, as a Canadian, I can't blame them. Millions of Seniors, both Canadian and American, live in poverty and if illness besets them, a great number of them become homeless. The world is in terrible shape. The drug companies are rich and powerful and could easily give away billions of drugs and would still show billions in profit. But greed drives the economy. So l say its OK, its my taxes, but my heart loves all people and if the senior of US need cheaper drugs, and we Canadians have them - come on over... we will save your life. We are a compassionate nation, selfless and giving. I say, whatever it takes to make it, take it.

They are not much cheaper in Canada and there is no guarantee they are the same drugs since the FDA doesn't have jurisdiction in Canada.
Assuming they are the same drugs, I guess any legal way you can afford them is OK.

The US needs to fix it's medical system that's broken. I will not fault old people who are simply trying to afford the medications they need. It's hard enough being old.

And, of course, they're not buying plane tickets that make the whole thing cost more than it would here. It costs less altogether. They're old, not stupid!

I order my boyfriends prescriptions online from a canadian pharmacutical company, and it's totally legal, I have no idea what you're talking about. You just need a prescription, and you fax it, and they mail you your medicine. You have to pay a yearly tax for it, but it's less than 200 bucks.
