I'm a guitar player myself. Not as good as the guitarists that'll be mention on this page of course. But anyways my favorite is Slash
(Guns N'Roses).
Then it would have to be Randy Rhoads(Ozzy), sucks that he died so young, his skills were phenomenal. I like Johnny Ramone(Ramones) too. Although i think most of his stuff is easy to play on guitar.

My all time favorite is Randy Rhoads. Died way too soon and what he did was nothing compared if he had lived. He was the first one to take classical licks and put them to heavy metal. I like peolpe who can play guitar and play more than 4 or 5 chords. Zakk Wylde is as close to Randy Rhoads you`ll get today. Dimebag copied al lot of Rhoads and Rhoads was his top player. Slash is a good player but I saw him do a benefit with Zakk Wylde for Gibson guitars and Zakk was the better player. Listen to Zakk and Black Label Society and you`l here a lot of Randy Rhoads in his solo`s. Hey you is a killer tune by Zakk and Black Label Society. The solo kills in that tune!! Just like Rhoads!!! I play also and studied Rhoads since 1982 and you can still here something different in his songs everytime you listen to them. Over the Mountain is one and Diary of a Madman is another.

Neil Young. Acoustic, soft and sentimental or as loud and distorted as possible, this guy has no peers. He says he and Crazy Horse are just a garage band.

Rick Nielsen, Cheap Trick. He's so underrated. He shook my hand, and in passing, squeezed my shoulder playfully and oh my god! That guy's hands are strong. I guess a lifetime of playing the guitar will do that to a person. (hey shameless brag in there but it's true) Rick's favorite guitarist is Jeff Beck/Yardbirds.
