It is possible for some people.

It is not possible for others.

For some people, it is impossible for them to be happy regardless. For other people, it is impossible for them NOT to be happy regardless.

Everybody knows of poor happy people and rich miserable people.

Money gives us more choices which makes it EASIER for us to be happier (and also easier for us to be more miserable).

I think you would be happier if you won a good amount and you could appreciate what you could do with it, like opening up businesses and providing employment to local people. I really do believe that it would give all people happiness with the freedom it allows you. I have family in South Africa and New Zealand, l can no longer afford to go there and have not seen nephews / aunts / granny etc for years. My granny is ill and does not have long to live, although money will not make her better, l would love to see her just one more time. I don't care about flash cars, big houses and gold, l want money because l want freedom to get on a plane and have time to visit people l love and miss. Although l'd love a 50" Plasma TV....this is something l could buy on credit if l could get it!. We saved up money so my parents could see my granny, although she really wants to see the grandchildren too...so in that respect, money would bring my granny one more bit of happiness, but unfortuantely that last wish can't be granted without the cash. It depends also what you want out of life as we are all different, some people are happy to lead basic lives whether they have money or not, others always need money to do what they enjoy. I was homeless not that long ago, so yes, money would have made me happier then and get me out of the debt now which is extremely stressful.

NO! starving to death or living in the street when it's cold and wet is not going to make anyone happy
Struggling to feed your self and your family is not an enjoyable thing and anyone who says they are poor here is not poor as they have a computer and somewhere to use it.
If you have never gone without food for days instead of hours if you have never slept under the stars because you had no bed if you have never walked barefoot because you have no shoes then you have never been poor
Having enough money to live is the minimum amount needed and then you can talk about happiness.
Being rich wont make you happy but being penniless wont either and all the pretty sunsets painted by God aint gonna help

I'm sure it is theoretically possible to be happy without money as a general rule. However trying to surviving in this society (in my case the UK) would be a near impossibility without having some factor of your life being influenced by money.

If you really try and imagine anyone staying alive for long without the outside influence of money in their lives, in any form, it would be a very short existence indeed, and therefore a not very happy one.

But that's society for you!

Is it possible to be happy WITH money. Much less certain. Happiness seems to be rarest in places that have most money. Take Hollywood as a good example.
GOD MUST LOVE THE POOR, HE MADE SO MANY OF THEM.

Depends what you mean by 'without money'. I'm guessing most people answering on their home computer have a different concept of 'without money' to the majority of the world who live in abject poverty. If you don't have food, drinking water, basic shelter, any kind of healthcare, and your family are dying around you of easily preventable diseases - it's pretty difficult to be happy.

Depends on your standards. If you want to live the rest of your life like a bum, then you don't really need any money to be happy. However, if you want to live a rewarding life where you get to help other people at a massive scale and contribute to society by creating jobs and providing shelter for others, then you'll need money to be happy because you need money to do all those things.

Yes because Ive been in both areas and never felt any different then I do now and I'm very poor. Actually I'm the happiest Ive ever been! Money is NOT inner peace and love why do you think so many people with money have drug addictions and other addictions? Do you think that maybe its because they were disillusioned into thinking money was the answer to all their problems? BIG ILLUSION!

Happiness can be had if you're living on the street. However, poverty is over-rated, and I'd love to risk being unhappy member of the country club crowd.

All money does is pay the bills. If your kid is sick, if your spouse is cheating, if your family won't talk to, if your house burns down with all your pictures and memories, all the money in the world isn't going to make that hurt any better.
