i'm moving from long beach california to fort lauderdale and would like to drive my stuff there, i have a jetta and planning to use a uhaul 4x8 trailer.
so i'm trying to calculate gas costs forthe trip which i know should include the total weight
so far i have found clculators that just have the miles of the trip but i know the weight would change the MPG

Figure you're regular cost of gas, then go ahead and add about 30%. I can't see you towing too much stuff but that should be a rough estimate to cover the weight and wind resistance.

You also might want to consider using a higher octane gas through the mountains too. That would of course increase the cost.

We moved my parents half way across the county and Penske was a better 1 way deal. Also, the penske trucks are up kept a lot better than Uhal and drive smoother/are more comfortable, in my experience anyway.
