It's said that babies can be soothed/relaxed by playing them the sound of a human heartbeat, because it reminds them of their mother's heartbeat when they were cozy and safe in the womb.
That may be the case with babies, but it's not with me!! For as long as I can remember, I've actively DISLIKED the sound of heartbeats. It makes me feel very uneasy and anxious, and even kind of "creeped out". :( If I hear this sound on TV, in a movie, in a piece of music, or whatever, I immediately want to turn it off.
Does anyone else feel this way? (And if so, do you have any idea why?)
It seems odd that such a natural noise, and one that's supposed to instinctively make us feel good, makes me feel bad. But as odd as anything might be, most likely there are always other folks who feel the same! *chuckle*
