Someone told me they saw an ad for special compound that you buff into the paint to cover or make scratches unnoticable.
Any heard of it?
Thanks.

I'm a professional car detailer, and I use a clearcoat compound that's also used for boat hulls called "gel gloss". It comes in a pinkish tin can with white top. first, wash and dry your car. after applying the compound buff it off and apply a POLISH instead of wax. the polish adheres to the clearcoat and fills in the scratches in the clearcoat. if you want better results apply multiple coats of polish after four hours from the first coat.

i recommend a polish called "liquid glass".... its exactly that.

good luck....

yea there is. theres alot of polishes like that. it works best if you use a buffer to do it with rather by hand. it wont completely get rid of them unless they are just scratches on the surface then those will usually come off. but deeper ones that have actually got into the paint will be harder to get rid of. and it doesnt really matter what color of stuff that oyu get. some of the best stuff is made by 3M. but it costs alot more and you will probably have to get two polishes. one that is kinda course that you buff on with a buffer and then a smoother compund that you buff on after that, that gets the good smooth shine back. if you go the parts dept. at the dealership they should be able to help you get what you will need.

yeah it exists - go to auto zone - or walmart black for black and white for red theyre in round containers it will tell y ou what color to get for your car- you buff it on then buff it off and it blends the paint and fills in the scratch you have to re-apply it every so often - i want to call it a rubbing compound - there are a lot of different brands - its been out a while

I have been in the a/body repair ind for over 20 years,It's just a con.If you want it to look the correct way don't wast your money or time, you really should find shop that has a good rep to repair it.Be careful because there are a lot of shops that do cut corners make it clear to them what you want, don't be taken advantage of.
