It has alot to do with the organizations representing there race, and in some case a selct few of the race causing problems like the kkk. These organizations do more to keep segregation and differences in our society than they help. At least the kkk is straight foward with there agenda. The naacp does it under the guise of helping minorities. Relly all they do is make harder on those of us who want to meld with all cultures. They do this by calling attraction to there differences instead of trying to build up there similarities. Fighting for your own language to be taught in scholls because you are to lazy to learn english, This is not a form of integration amongst races but rather segregation. If we as americans want to end racism on the large scale we must embrace our similarities and strength and work together and actually make an effort to get along.

I relize we can not all get along with each other just because of human nature. But just because one person does somthing to us does not means there whole race is tht way. Give each individual a chance. I am white and am not racist and have a few black friends and would not consider them racist.

I also believe that in the U.S. there is a double standard. Black people are allowed to call us white people names without being considered racist. Yet if a white person called a black person a name they would be accuse of being racist. It is racist both ways. If black people want to quit being called these racist and diragatory term they are going to have to quit calling us name also. There is no inscentive for a person to quit somthing of they do not get something out of it. If they quit calling white people names then they could point this out. This however is not hat happens. We as white people get accused of being racist and they claim it is all onesided when in reality it is coming from both sides. Until you are willing to admit you have a problem there is no way to fix it. Just like being an alcoholic the first step to recovery is admittance

We all have evolved as social animals eg primates. We live in groups and there always have been inter-group rivalaries due to clash of intrests. Earlier these groups formed within physical barriers but as we evolved as society, these have started crumbling. From tribes, to villages, to cities, to nations and now to the global village. But that security of being belonging to a group is still craved for. Now the basis of formation of groups is shifting from physical to intangibles. The groups get formed on the basis of language, religion, sects, races etc. We can belong to different groups at the same time. Race is again one basis of formation of group. Some times there are inter-racial conflicts while at others there are intra-racial conflicts. But the common thread in all inter-group rivalaries remain conflict of interests.

We have to evolve a method to resolve these conflicts if we have to survive and progress. These discussions on net is an excellent step towards that direction.
