This question seeks to find out the cheaper alternative between moving furniture and other utensils (from Washington) OR buying new things at the new destination (Illinois).

Depends...are you doing it or having a mover do it for you?
Most items it would be more convienent to just buy new...towels, sheets, pillows, misc. bath items...ect.
Most moving companies charge by the pound.....if you are going to do it...the cost of a truck can be misleading....not only do you have to pay for the day use...you have to pay for mileage...the avg. is about 39cents per mile....and of course gas.

There would be items with sentimental values that would be taken I would imagine. You might try calling a moving place and getting an estimate before making a decision.

it's almost always cheaper just to move your belongings. it cost me around $400 to rent a large semitruck to move all of my belongings when i moved. rest assured it would have cost me much more if i had to replace all those items.

depends on what u want to take and how much stuff u have and the value of it if the stuff is junk buy new stuff but if heirlooms consider shipping it

If you're referring to your mother-in-law, just leave her. You can always get a cheap replacement.

if you have crap, buy new in IL. other wise move them!
