the 8/80MB hard disk drive is in it's original packing and not a discarded drive. Would appreciate what this is for and how do I install it.

Well, back when computers where relatively new, 80Mb hard drive cost about $160! yep, it only held 80Mb! I believe the 8 stands for how much cache the drive heads hold, while seeking information... then another number would indicate the speed at which it spins. Since most drives have a shelf live of 10yrs, it may not even work... if it does work, chances are that everything on it has either degraded, or is in DOS format, which could be read by windows, but it's most likely corrupt. Personally, I would not waste the time or effort to install this drive (never mind that the connectors might not fit... but then again, I can't remember if they've changed in the last 15yrs?
