We live in a time in which cellphones allow you to accomplish everything you can do with a computer and more... and its lightweight and mobile! It can be used as a tracking device in kidnapping cases. Also takes pictures and video as well as allowing you to view other people's pics. You can transmit or beam data as well as call a friend or text message them. You can watch video broadcasts or listen to music on a cell phone. Depending on the phone, you may also be able to create word, excel and other documents. You can play games or surf the Internet.. I mean, why not carry one?

I got rid of my home phone years ago, when I graduated to Cable Internet... Cell's the way to go, man! don't have to be in a specific place, can call nationwide, without LD charges... why pay $28+/month for something I never, ever used?

I originally got my phone so people could contact me while I'm at work, but its only purpose now is to contact my mom when we split up during shopping, otherwise I'll have to circulate the store 4-5 times before I find her. It certainly isn't a necessity for me or my mom, because we both average 345 minutes a month . . . combined.

because i love talking to people. i have friends and acquaintances all over the country, so it makes it a lot cheaper for me to talk for hours. also i am the kind of person that people turn to when they are in a bind. this gives those that i love the ability to contact me any time, no matter where i am.

Because I have a child and family that need to keep in touch with me. My job also requires me to wear a pager. It does make things more convenient.

All of my friends live outside my area code, so it's cheaper than paying long distance, and it makes my family feel better that they can reach me at any time.
