He didn't force himself on under age boys. He solicited them via email. I don't know if it's typical of the republican party, but it is typical of perverts, which he is. Why did they look away? Just a guess, but Foley is ranked fairly highly. People don't like to rock the boat when some high ranking official is in it. It makes very big waves and it's almost NEVER the guilty party who drowns.

Its typical of politics in general to ignore such things.
Gerry Studds had real sex with minors and Barney Franks had a call boy service running out of his office. Neither side cared until the news broke. Then the Republicans were indignant and the Democrats circled their wagons tp protect their own.
With Foley the Republicans made it known to Foley he was being cast out and Foley resigned. If it wasn't an election year nobody would have heard about it. But it was known and deliberatelyleaked because it is an election year.
To be fair your question should ask if it is typical of Democrats and Republicans to look the other way. Because both sides knew but said nothing until it was politically convenient.

Maybe because we wern't in the room to watch? He was in trouble for writing them from his pc not physically forcing himself on them. Well I gues a creep like that could force himself on his mouse? Ewwwww Well at least he did the right thing and stepped down unlike a Democrat caught having a physical relationship with a 16 year old who didn't step down.Do you just hate republicans and are using this to blame the whole party? Typical left wing reasoning. Don't throw rocks in glass houses you might cut yourself lol

They were to busy running for there own life. It has been rumored
that DC has a very high social pedaphile ring with members of congress and senate raping young children at mansions on the Potomac. Maybe pictures and videos are available and being used
as black mail againist these esteemed members of our government. Why did 100 senators vote for the military act of 2006
both dems and reps knowing that it was a subversion to the contitution. I guess they asked Gonzales.

The Republican who looked away had money and power in their best interest and not the well being of those young naive and vulnerable page's. They'll try and sweep this under the rug, just like the church did a few years ago when it came out that all these boys were molested by priests. Just you wait and see.

Okay, let me say it again....
THE REPUBLICAN PARTY didn't "look the other way", he was forced out of office.
When Studds had SEX with a page....the democrats rallied around him and made him their hero.
So, I HOPE this is typical of our Republican Party....because between Studds, Frank and that guy that Clinton pardoned for having sex with an underage campaign worker....we KNOW what is typical of the democrat party. Oh, let us not forget about bill, himself. Ick.
