i think theyre hoping to keep him isolated just enough to keep him down as it has been for years with north korea ... the way i se it kim can rant and stomp his feet all day and it wont change anything .. the only card he really has to play is to start a combat clash somewhere ... and thats an iffy thing for him to do ... it would make him look bad and if it didnt go his way he could wind up with a big glass pit for a country ... i think the way its going is fine for now ... the other thing that could happen is that the surounding countries form a union with north korea and force the US out of south korea .. this may be the direction kim thinks it will go ... we will just have to wait and see how it plays out, but a preemptive military action by the US would be a bad move and could turn into nuclear ww3 with china ...

The U.N. has been and always will be a corrupt organization, catering to the needs of brutal dictators.
I don't know what would happen if the negotiations would fail...and they will, trust me. Any Kim Jong-mentally-ill or Mahmood Adolfinejad would scoff at the U.N. To impose sanctions is like a slap on the wrist.

I find this question sort of ironic -- people around the world are throwing fits because Bush "did something" about Iraq when UN sanctions failed. Now people expect him to "do something" about N. Korea because the UN is ineffective. Things that make ya go hmmmm.

Toss the ball in China's court. Sooner or later they'll squash Kim Jong Il like a bug.
