I am looking for a place with a lot of natural beauty, that is CLEAN and not a bunch of drunk college students everywhere. Also, with a good kids program, and not one that just sits them in front of TV and video... they can do that at home.

Dreams properties are definitely nice. But depending on what it is you are looking for with you and your family I could suggest better places than Cancun such as Playa Del Carmen and the hotel I can't really recommend without knowing the answers to some questions. Because one property that is right for one family isn't for another. Playa Del Carmen is South of Cancun and you actually fly into Cancun.
May I ask how did you decide on going to Cancun? I have been there and it's a great city, but very commercial and high rise as opposed to other locations.
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you with your family vacation. Either way I would strongly advice that you do use a travel agent. We can help qualify you and your family to try and then put you in the place we feel you will be most happy with not only in being happy, but financially.

The Riu is a great hotel. It's an all inclusive hotel. Located right on the beach it's beautiful. The beach that they are located on is beautiful, not as rough as the beaches with other hotels because of the locatation the hotel faces. You won't get as much of that drunk college kids as other hotels because it is a bit pricey. If you're trying to stay away from all that college kids I recommend do not come for spring break. When you're done relaxing on the beach or at the pool you just step outside the front door and not to far away you are right in the center of all resturants, bars, and shopping. It's a great location. They have a great if not one of the best kids club. Kids club is for ages 4 to 12, and is open six days a week from from 10am to 5pm with break for lunch. At night there is a mini disco until 9pm. During holidays or special occasions they do other speacial activites. On Halloween the workers all dress up and take the kids all over the hotel in diffrent areas to go trick - o - treating. Then on Christmas they take all the kids to the beach while Santa and his elves arrives on jet skis, then they all go to the kids center and each kid gets a gift. They also had a kids olympics. With the workers dressed up like the Gods and they also had metals given out. At times they also have talent shows that the kids put on for the parents. Their thing is "make the kids happy and they are sure to come back." The Riu has three hotels in the hotel zone, the one with the great child care is Hotel Riu Cancun I believe, please call and make sure. The thing is they have two hotels right next to each other the one I listed above and Riu Palace Las Americas, no matter which one you stay the child care is available to you, it's just that the child care is located only in one of the hotels, so if you are staying at the hotel w/o the child care located right in the building your kids will be taken to the other hotel.

I would recommend the Oasis Cancun. It's a fun and popular hotel. In Acapulco I would recommed Park Royal or Copacabana. Hope this helps!! Cass Tours

Dreams cancun is located in "Punta Cancun", neuralgic point of the hotel zone. It is a hotel that formerly belonged to a Mexican chain called "Camino real" and its beach does not have waves, perfect for the children. Close to the hotel are many restaurants: rainforest, planet Hollywood, hard rock, etc. He is one of the hotels that did not have damages by the Wilma hurricane, so there is no problem, come and enjoy Cancun

I just got back from the Dreams on my honeymoon. We stayed in the Junior suite w/ jacuzzi. The resort was phenomenal, primarily for the incredible service we had. This resort was awesome for the two of us, not sure for the whole family. I was surprised at how good the food was.
It was previously mentioned, and I would have to agree to research more family friendly resorts. If it was just your husband and you...the Dreams would be more ideal. The Explorers Club that is offered looked awesome, but compared to other resorts, it might not be the best option for you and your family...unfortunately.
I would recommed going there when you're free from the kids though! I didn't regret it at all!
