Fill with clean water & filter. Pour no more that 1/4 C of vinegar & let it run through just as if you were making coffee. When cycle is finished, dump it out, put one more clean filter in & fill again with fresh water. Do not add anything this time, just let it run through a cycle again & dump it out. Coffee maker should be cleaned of hard water build up. You may need to do this more than once right at first. Do this once a month. I bought a water filtering pitcher & used the water from that to make coffee with. Then my husband installed one of those sm. R.O. filters to our kitchen sink & I used it for drinking, cooking & coffee. After that, I didn't have to de-gunk my coffee pot any more.

I just add a little vinegar to my coffee pot and fill it about halfway full of water then run it through just like you were making coffee. It just cleans out the parts of the coffee maker that you can't clean regularly. Then if you want you can run another pot of water through just to make sure you rinse all of the vinegar out.

about once a month, pour the white vinegar in the water receptacle and run it Though the pot 3 times, then run 3 pots of water, so the vinegar is rinsed out
